Twenty-five years ago, I already envisioned creating a space where hairstylists and salon owners could be educated on all hair textures.
Texture This! was born from this vision.
We believe that all hair textures are worthy.
Love sees beyond skin colour and hair texture.
Texture This! offers curly hair education to its clientele, stylists, salon owners, and industry leaders.
Many curly hair clients don’t get the services they need because the hairstylists don’t have access to curl education.
That is why I presented at the Word’s Fair Hair Show. I show hairstylists how to cut and style curly hair effectively.
Little do clients know how far and wide hairstylists have to travel to access the curl education they so desperately want.
Through Texture This! stylists acquire the curly hair knowledge they are looking for.
What is your preferred learning style?
We aim to serve.
Do you learn best in a hands-on group setting, one-on-one, or in online classes?
I have created multiple platforms stylists can easily access to get the learnings they need.
Texture This! courses (including individual classes and workshops) are showing stylists how to cut, style, and colour multiple textures.
Partnering with Texture This! increases stylists’ curl knowledge, so they can make more money and embrace a diverse clientele base.
Learning how to confidently work with all hair textures creates a safer environment for all people to enter your salon space and get their hair done with you.
Industry leaders looking to partner with Texture This!
Texture This! offers mentorship programs for those who want to fast-track their career and build a solid reputation as a trailblazer in the beauty industry.
The CROWN Act stands for “Create a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair.”
(enacted in 2019)
The CROWN Act
The CROWN Act prohibits discrimination based on hairstyle and hair texture. It is the first legislation of its kind to protect hair. And we, Texture This! support the CROWN Act.
In our quest to make sure our Texture This! salon space, academy, and classes are a safer space for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community; we have partnered with The Dresscode Project.
